Plastic Garland

Plastic garland
Year 2018

This jewellery art collection challenges the use of plastic and mass-produced objects in sacred rituals by exploring the sacred flower garland in South and Southeast Asian culture. Each piece is made from laser-cut acrylic sheets and coated in silicone rubber, creating a bright and colourful plastic beads.

The collection is inspired by the use of the flower garland as an offering for worshiping the holy spirit and questions the replacement of traditional craftsmanship with modern, ready-made products.
